What information do you require to set up my web hosting account or domain name?

If you already have a domain, we will require details of the domain or domains you wish to be hosted with us. We would also need your name and address for our customer records. If you are registering a domain name with us, we require the full name, address and telephone number of the registrant – this is a registration requirement.

How long will it take to set up my web hosting account?

Your web hosting account will normally be set up within 24 hours of us receiving your order. Many accounts are set up within 2 hours of receiving your order.

I wish to register a domain, how long does this process take?

Domains are registered as soon as you order them, however it can take between 24 and 72 hours for them to become visible on the Internet.

How can I check to see if the domain name I want is available?

I don’t currently have a domain name, do I need one for a web hosting account?

Yes you will. If you purchase any qualifying web hosting package from our website, you can claim a FREE domain name as part of the package.

Can I transfer my web hosting from another company to you?

Yes, we accept transfers. Please check the server requirements for your current website or contact us if you are unsure whether our server will be appropriate for hosting your website.

If I already have a domain name, can I still host with you?

Yes indeed you can. If you are not transferring the domain to us, all we need is the domain name so we can set up the hosting account for you. You would need to be able to change the nameserver records with your current domain registrar – you would nornally do this through your control panel. If you are in any doubt, we will endeavour to help you get up and running. You can also transfer your domain name to us, usually free of charge. We are happy to advise you on this if you need information.

I need to change my nameserver records – what are your nameservers?

How long does it take to transfer a domain?

This is usually dependent on your current registrar. Once the transfer has been submitted, it can take anywhere from 24-72 hours. Please be aware that there are restrictions on some domain name transfers. These will have been made available to you when you purchased your domain product.

What information will I receive once the account is set up?

We will send you a “Welcome Email” which will provide you with all the login details necessary to administer your account through your control panel. It also includes details on FTP, email, etc.

Do you offer an easy access control panel?

Can I use CGI scripts on my website?

Which databases do you support?

We support MySQL on Linux and MS SQL on Windows servers. MySQL is the world's most popular open source database, recognized for its speed and reliability and is included in all Linux packages. MS SQL databases can be purchased as an additional extra on Windows packages.

Do you support FTP?

Yes, we support FTP with multiple FTP logins available on all accounts. for FTP access in our offices we use WS FTP Pro but there are many other FTP programs available such as CoreFTP (free).

Do you offer phpMyAdmin for MySQL database administration?

Yes phpMyAdmin comes as part of your MySQL installation on all Linux server packages.

Can I access my account using SSH?

SSH access is accessible via your control panel, but conditions do apply. Please note that breach of these conditions will result in termination of your account without notice.

How can I see how many visitors I am getting?

You will have access to various stats analysis tools from within your control panel. These are all included FREE with every web hosting account.

Do you allow adult content, warez or filesharing websites?

No, we do not allow these types of websites on our shared hosting servers. However, we do allow adult content on our dedicated servers as long as the content does not break any applicable laws. We do not allow sites whose primary purpose is file downloads or transfer. We have this restriction to ensure that all users receive fast, dependable service. Do you support ASP?

Yes, we support ASP.net on all of our Windows server packages. Also, on Linux servers, we support an implementation of ASP – Sun ONE ASP (Chili!Soft ASP).

How often can I update my website?

You have unlimited access to your account 24/7.

What about backups?

We can, for a monthly fee, arrange data backup of your websites if you so wish. We also provide, as part of our custom control panel, facilities for backing-up your site. We would recommend all clients make adequate back-up arrangements to protect their important data. Our servers are backed up every night but recovery of individual’s files is not a service we provide.

Do you put adverts on my website?

No, unlike some cheap and free hosting companies we have no need to put adverts on any of your sites.

Can I upgrade my account or add more features?

Yes, you can upgrade to a new plan at anytime, plus we also offer enhancements which you may find useful.

Will I be able to use your SSL certificate or do I have to purchase my own?

You can use our shared SSL certificate which you can configure through your control panel. We can also offer an individual SSL certificate for customers.

What is your preferred method of payment?

We accept most online Credit and Debit cards through PayPal – you do not need a PayPal account to pay by this method.

Are my credit card details secure?

Yes. All online payments are processed by PayPal – our third party payment processor – on their secure servers. As such we never see or have access to any credit card details.

Can I host a commercial website?

Yes of course, you can host any type website as long as it falls within our Terms and Conditions.
